Make a Paper Canoe
(20 minutes)
Make a canoe like the ones used by Northwest Coast Indian people. Cut out the canoe, decorate it with animals and shapes, and put it together.

1. If you are a Mac
user: Pull down the 'File' menu at the top of your screen, go to
'Page Setup', and reduce the page size to 82%.

2. Now youre ready to do your project. Take the papers you just printed out, gather the materials you need, and find a good place to play! |

3. Cut out the canoe shape along the solid black lines. |

4. Fold canoe in half along the center line. |
![]() |
5. Fold back either side along the dotted lines. |

6. Fold and glue the ends of your canoe together. |

7. Look at the different animals and creatures. Decorate your canoe with your favorite animal. |

8. Color the canoe with crayons, colored pencils, or markers. |

9. Dont forget to think of a
cool name for your canoe.
