Make Maya Jewelry

How many shades of green can you find in this jewelry? Make your own necklace and wristlets just like the ancient Maya! Wear the jewelry and imagine you’re a Maya ruler.

SUPPLIES:

• Crayons, colored pencils, markers (especially green, blue and yellow)
• Scissors
• Hole punch
• String or yarn

STEPS:

	1.  If you are a  Mac user:  Pull down the 'File' menu at the top of your screen, go to 'Page Setup', and reduce the page size to 82%.
	2.  Now you’re ready to do your project. Take the papers you just printed out, gather the materials you need, and find a good place to play!
	3.  Color your necklace and wristlets.
	4.  Cut out the pieces along the solid black lines.
	5.  Punch holes in the small circles at the end of each piece.
	6.  Cut 5 pieces of string or yarn, each about 12 inches long.
	7.  Thread a piece of string or yarn through the small holes and tie a knot at the end. 8.  Tie your jewelry around your neck and wrists!
