Discover a new language! Join a little boy as he goes on a fishing trip with his father off Vancouver Island. Find out some new names for eagles, bears and other animals.

STEPS:

1.  If you are a Mac user:  Pull down the 'File' menu at the top of your screen, go to 'Page Setup', and reduce the page size to 82%.

 

2.  Now you’re ready to do your project. Take the papers you just printed out, gather the materials you need, and find a good place to play!
3.  All the bold words in the story are in Kwak’wala, the language of the Kwakwaka’waka people. Using the key on Sheet #1, fill in the English translation in the circles below the Kwak’wala words in the story.
