Bentwood Box Before commercial paints were available, Northwest Coast Indian artists worked hard to create their own colors out of natural materials like berries and mushrooms.  In comparison, Larry Rosso, the artist who made this box in 1991, was able to buy his bright red and black paint at the store.  This paint will last much longer than the natural dyes used long ago.
