Bentwood Box
Yes, you can cook in this box, just like Northwest Coast Indian people used to do!  Place smooth heated rocks in the bottom, pour water into the box and put the lid on tightly.  Now wait for the hot rocks to boil the water and cook your food!  It’s hard to believe – but the seams of this box are so tight, water can’t leak out!

One of the tastiest dishes you can cook in a bentwood box is halibut stew.  Halibut is a fish that can grow to be over nine feet long.  Would you believe that both of a halibut’s eyes are on the right side of its head?  (What do you think happens when it has to make a left turn?)  The halibut has large teeth and is considered a gourmet treat to Northwest Coast Indian people.
